One of iPhone’s several characteristics is that you can carry an unlimited number of photos with you every day. Apart for having a nifty camera in your pocket all the photos taken or even stored on your computer can easily be organized on your iPhone. Many iPhone users who use its camera to take several snapshots, however, soon realize that iPhone’s default Camera Roll Album soon becomes cluttered.

This tutorial will show you how to create one or several photo albums on your iPhone. The method applied can be used either to organize the photos that are already stored on your iPhone or even to sync photo albums that are stored on your computer.

1. Use the USB Cable that came with your iPhone to connect the phone to your computer.  Go to your desktop and click on the My Computer icon. Alternately click on the Start Button and then click on My Computer from the Start Menu.

2. In the My Computer window locate your iPhone which is usually listed under Scanners and Cameras. Click on your iPhone’s icon to locate the photos stored on your iPhone.

3. The photos taken via iPhone’s inbuilt camera will all be listed under similar filenames such as IMG_0001, IMG_0002 etc. Browse through the photos you have stored on your iPhone and select all the photos you want to include in your new photo album.

4. Once all your desired photos are selected click on the Edit Menu and select Cut (It is recommended that Cut is used as these photos will eventually be synced back to your iPhone).

5. Next go to the My Pictures Folder. This can be located either by going to the My Documents Folder or by going to the Start Menu. In My Pictures click on the File Menu and select New/Folder. Give the New Folder a name that reflects your new Photo Album such as Christmas 2010 for example.

6. Now Open your newly created folder and go to the Edit Menu and select Paste. The photos that were previously stored on your iPhone are now in your newly created folder located in My Pictures.

7. The next steps involve copying back this folder to your iPhone. Open iTunes and find your iPhone listed on the left-hand menu. Double-click on your iPhone and you will find all the syncing options available on the screen.

8. To transfer your new photo album back to your iPhone click on the Photos tab at the top of the screen and check the Sync Photos From option at the top left of the screen and make sure that My Pictures is selected from the drop down menu.

9. Select the Selected Folders Radio Button which brings up all the sub-folders currently stored in My Pictures. Select your newly created folder containing the pictures you copied from your iPhone.

10. Now hit the sync/apply button located at the bottom right of the screen. Allow your iPhone to sync your new Photo Album and you are done!

Once the syncing process is complete go to you iPhone’s Photos and you will see your new Photo Album in the Albums Screen.
