Learning how to put music on an iPod Nano is easy, as with all things, when you know how! In fact, once you attach your new iPod Nano to your computer, you will be astonished at how hands-off the new Apple computer technology software is.You will find that your computer and iTunes take over, and there is very little work for you to do in terms of adding your favorite music tracks. First, you need to navigate to your iTunes browsing window. Find your own model and click on it to select. You'll find it if you look towards the left of the iTunes window, right there in the Devices area.

Then click on the 'Sync Music' option on the menu. Syncing your music will now be a few clicks away, and you will see how much fun is involved in putting music on your new iPod Nano. Remember that synchronizing is not confined to music alone - once you are confidently up and running you will be able to sync podcasts of your favorite pieces too, and your iPod Nano can do this automatically.

Having navigated this far, you will notice that you have a choice about whether to sync all of your songs and play-lists or just some selected ones for the moment. Presumably your iPod will still be very new if you are learning how to add music for the first time - this is good because the iPod Nano has to have plenty of free space to sync the musical content and favorite tunes that you have picked out from your own personal music collection.  If you're not sure how much space you have left on your iPod Nano, then just look out for the capacity indicator. Look down to the bottom of your iPod Nano settings window to find the capacity bar. You will soon see how many of your best albums, classic songs and favorite hits you can fit onto your gadget. You can decide the size of a particular playlist if you click on it and then check out  the bottom of the iTunes window.

A very useful function on the iPod Nano is the facility to  automatically sync favorite podcasts to it. Just pick out  the podcasts and choose whether your own personal preference is to  synchronize all of the available podcasts or just favorite ones you've chosen. If you want to, you can decide which episodes are synced in terms of their history, for example - unplayed, recent, or new.

Now the few clicks of work are over, and your iPod Nano and software will do the rest itself. All you have to do to play your part in adding the music to your new iPod Nano is to apply your instructions. After you have clicked on the command to do this, iTunes will quickly begin syncing your required audio content - the tunes  you've chosen on your iPod. You will feel pleasantly reassured that all music syncing is going well as you survey the iTunes LCD which shows you the progress it's making. It will even notify you when it's done and your music syncing is complete. This notification lets you know it's OK to unplug your iPod Nano. Just disconnect your cool music device by picking it out back on the Devices menu, being sure to click the icon that represents the eject instruction. Then you have your 'music to go' when you leave the house!
