There are thousands of great fee iPhone apps available for download through the apps store in Apple iTunes. With so many apps available what does one do if they want to remove one or more of these apps from a shiny new iPhone?
If you are like most people you download more apps on your iPhone then you will ever actually need. Below are some steps to removing those extra apps from the library on your iPhone.
The first thing you want to do is ensure your iPhone is turned on. Once you have powered up your iPhone next, go to your "home" screen so that you have the icons of the iphone applications displayed.
Now, that your applications are displayed you can now start the process of deleating unnecessary iPhone apps that you have downloaded.
Locate the icon associated with the application you wish to delete. With the application icon showing on your home screen touch and hold the icon until it starts to wobble on the screen. If you have ever moved or rearranged the icons on your Iphones home screen you are familiar with this wobbling process. If you are not familiar with the process you will notice that as the icon wobbles it now has a small "X" in the upper left corner of your screen. If there is no "X" in the corner the application you are trying to delete was not downloaded and is one that come with your iPhone.
Next, is the special step. If you touch the "X" in the upper left corner a pop-up screen will display. This should warn you that "deleting" will not only delete the icon but, any and all data associated with the application. Now, you are given the choices "delete" or "cancel." Delete will erase the application and the icon from your iPhone. But, if you choose to "cancel" the icon and all of the data associated with it will remain on your iPhone.
Once, you have chosen to delete, you're done and the iPhone app is gone. Next, you want to press the home button and all remaining icons will stop wobbling and the "X" will have disappeared.
Now you have successfully removed a downloaded app from your Iphone. One should remember these steps if they are constantly downloading or changing the applications on their iPhone. iPhones are great for downloading apps and storing all our favorite data but, one needs to know the proper steps for when it comes time to delete or remove unneeded apps from slowing down your iPhone.
