Chosen
Never will I ask
to be your chosen one
nor the one for whom you must fight
I am here
What you ask
I give
What you need
I surrender
Never will I trouble you
I settle myself elsewhere
not at your side
always at a distance
I am patient for you
I wait
in the meantime
you will come around.
There is no need
to accomodate me
I will only pray
that you will love me
look upon me with affection
a shadow, perhaps
of my fire for you.
I will pray
even a shadow
will be enough
for me
if I am chosen.
