How To Revive Dull Looking Skin
There is nothing like dull looking skin to make a woman or a man for that matter, look and feel old and tired. Having healthy looking skin makes people feel better and more attractive to both themselves and to others. Taking care of your skin from the beginning can help keep your skin looking bright and healthy. However, for those who have been neglecting their skin, it is not too late to revive your dull looking skin. Doing so may make you look and feel years younger.
What Makes Your Skin Look Dull?
There are a variety of factors that can make your skin look dull and lack luster including using commercial based soaps that tend to dry the skin, make up, too much sun exposure, unhealthy diet, and a variety of other factors. Reviving your dull looking skin and keeping it looking healthy on a permanent basis is a matter of nurturing your skin from the inside out. Here are some simple tips to reviving your dull looking skin.
Exfoliate, Exfoliate, Exfoliate!
Each day skin cells die and turn gray/white. This can make even the healthiest skin look dull and dry. Exfoliating your skin twice a week will remove those dead and dull skin cells and the new healthy skin cells shine through. To exfoliate properly, removing all make up and lotions from your face, and then gently wash using a loofah and a mild non skin drying soap.
Deep Clean Your Skin
Once you have removed all those dead skin cells then you need to deep clean your skin. Begin by using hot water to open your pores and then use an all natural soap without artificial fragrances to wash your face thoroughly. Follow that by a hot water rinse to remove all the soap and then a cold water rinse to help close the pores to keep dirt and oil from building up.
Tone Your Skin
Once you have deep cleaned your skin then you need to use an anti-stringent to tone your skin and help keep it looking good. Witch hazel works well as an anti stringent, is cheaper than most name brands and feels really refreshing.
Moisturize
The last step in the daily regime is moisturizing your skin with a light oil free moisturizer that contains a sunscreen. Moisturizer works best when applied with a light hand.
Reviving your skin from the outside is only half the battle. If you really want healthy looking skin, then you also need to protect and nourish your skin from the inside as well. To do this you will need to stay hydrated which means drinking plenty of water. Dehydration not only affects your ability to function but, it plays a major role in keeping your skin looking healthy.
You also want to make sure that your nutrition includes plenty of vitamin C, E and A, this will make your skin glow from the inside out and add a brightness to your complexion that is really astonishing.
Last of all get the proper amount of rest. Proper rest will help your skin to be healthier, your eyes brighter and give you an overall glow that in combination with your healthier skin will make you look beautiful and absolutely glowing!
