At one's best, it will be immature to predict about a country which could become a world power in 50 years. One common consensus is that it solely depends upon socio-economic conditions, political conditions, territorial advantages, educational opportunity, natural wealth, and most importantly leadership with a vision for a country.
As expected, human race and advancement of science and technology helped this world to think as a global village. Yet, modern technology, economic and military power also forbidden billions from the glory of this present world. It is worth noting by nature human beings are nice and selfish as well. And if it is continued, one reasonable person can make a strong argument about few countries in the present tier.
Today, much of the political debates are two sided. One that is enjoyed by few suggest protectionism within the globalization, and remaining other one is rest of the world just trying to survive or another words go with the flow.
It is obvious to recognize the bigger is the territory of a country enjoys the promising future. At the same token, the study will suggest country like Brazil, China, India, Russia, USA and many others who has territorial advantages conclusively will have not only bigger but as well powerful military. Even so, I am of the view of which country is ready to embrace thoughtful and aggressive policies in both: education and as well in economic sector. In this merit, one can look at with naked eyes and see Brazil, China, Canada, India, Russia, South Korea, South Africa and few others like Argentina, Mexico, and Nigeria will be able to join with the elite club.
If history is any guide, any reasonable person can argue that USA, Japan, and Western European countries are going to be among the elite club. Yet, both economic and military power will be shared with others.
Most importantly, the nuclear weapon domination and economic domination will go together, but only nuclear weapon issue can have great impact in the future. And certainly country like Pakistan and Israel will share the world power, and undoubtedly in a decade or so few new nuclear weapons member states will join with the existing members.
Though it is impossible to know if environment will be a threat to the modern world or not. But study suggest otherwise. From a collective standpoint, a country that takes education is the way to lead and have a progressive educational system in place, will enjoy the assurance in producing an educated society and will be an excellent candidate to become a world power. At the same time, I do foresee if not many but few are headed for that direction.
Let us remember that an educated society will advance economic opportunity, and economic opportunity will make a room and enough space so that country can maneuver her wealth and stand against outside aggression. No doubt China, India along Brazil and Argentina are the prime example of a successful story. And I do not like to pick or single out only one country, if I must I shall pick China because I believe her education and economic policies are the driven force.
