There are many holiday novels for the entire family to enjoy. One such favorite book is "Skipping Christmas," by author John Grisham. This book is about a family who was not in the mood for celebrating Christmas that year since their oldest daughter went off to college. Everyone around them in the neighborhood is all decorating and having fun except for them. Then as Christmas comes closer, they may or may not have a change of heart.
"Grace A Christmas Sisters of the Heart," novel written by Shelley Shepard Gray is about a family who owns a bed and breakfast who are looking forward to time off from their business for the holidays since it will be a relaxing time. But their plans all change when two people come to their doorstep.
"Sara's Christmas Miracle," by the author Mary Ellis, is an Amish-based story. The main character who is Sara Beachy an young Amish woman, is happy and contented with her life, and loves to work as a cook for an English bed-and-breakfast. Sara also has a love in her life as well, but a piece of her life is missing due to her long lost brother who left his Amish roots years ago. Sara wants to find this long lost brother, and bring him back home to her parents for Christmas.
"A Redbird Christmas," by author Fannie Flagg is another excellent Christmas novel choice. Oswald T. Campbell, the main character of this book is very ill with emphysema, and told by his doctor that he has but one year left to live. So hearing this news, Oswald leaves his home in Chicago, and travels on to Lost River Alabama. Once there, Oswald finds the unexpected, meeting Frances Cleverdon who is a widow, and Frances believes that Oswald is a perfect fit for her sister Mildred.
"The Gift" which is a novel by Richard Paul Evans is a story about Nathan Hurst who enjoys traveling a lot in spite of his disorder Tourette's Syndrome. In this book, Nathan is traveling to Denver Colorado when unfortunately he becomes stuck in snow on arrival at the Denver airport. Along comes a family in need who has been stranded, and Nathan reaches out to help them.
"The Christmas Secret," written by author Donna VanLiere is about the fifth book in her series "Christmas Hope." This book is about a mother who is single, namely Angela Christine Eisley. Angela has a very difficult life as she is always trying to make ends meet for both her and her two children. Not only is Angela struggling financially, but she has battles with her ex as well, who wants nothing to do with paying child support, yet feels he should have custody of the children. After Angela loses her job on top of everything else, life seems pretty hopeless.
These books are some that are sure to add joy and spirit to the holiday season.
