Poetry: Last thoughts

by Jon Sasse

Created on: December 13, 2010

This fateful day we took a drive along a winding road

Snow is falling the road turns white the car begins to go

Around the bend we can not stop the car begins to slide

Into the tree we didn't see, oh god we're still alive

I look to my wife she looks back at me we know the end is near

Minds are racing with our memories but there is no fear

Our life has been full, filled with love time slips slowly away

If we must go here tonight, together we'll happily fade

Our eyes meet, holding so close, no fear of the unknown

We'll be together for eternity together, forever we'll go

Let this life end Let the the snow fall

As this ends tonight we dont care at all

Time has come, Let no one weep

We've moved on together in this final sleep

Let this world end, Let the sky fall

we hold each other tight and don't care at all

We now go off to a much better place

Holding each other in loves eternal embrace
