So what is the skinny on the Middleton diet? Do we see yet another, soon to be princess doing the dangerous diet dance? Not likely! Despite rumors of Kate Middleton dieting before her royal wedding it is actually her Mother, Carole Middleton trying to dump a few pounds since the blissful announcement.

Kate’s mum Carole has the pre-nuptial nibbles or so she told the UK Sunday Times back in October. She admitted to starting the Dukan diet and offered up positive results of losing 4 pounds in 4 days!  

The Dukan diet, named after nutritionist Pierre Dukan has four stages of eliminating all carbohydrates and then slowly reintroducing healthy starches once the desired weigh loss has been achieved. It is ironic this diet coming from the land of croissants, wines, and cheese. Dr. Pierre Dukan offers this sometimes controversial diet for fast weight loss. There are differences of opinion on its effects and long term results on weigh loss.

Carole and Michael Middleton are owners of a party business, Party Pieces.  They offer customers every party item from décor and balloons to cake and party sweets. They opened the business in 1987 and it has been quite successful.

The upcoming nuptials may have prompted Mrs. Middleton to react with wanting to look her best for royal wedding photos, thus the diet. It should be noted that she, as well as her daughter, are natural beauties and I am sure the weigh issue is one of personal image, which many women can relate.

Kate, herself remains very active and dieting is a non-issue for the soon to be princess. In the just released official engagement photos, the couple looks so happy and well-suited. Kate is a very healthy looking young woman, without being rail thin and hollow cheeked. She has a wonderful glow that comes from the happiness of true love and a well-balanced diet. She is bright and sparkly and sure to be a wonderful companion to her very handsome prince.

What is really amazing is how quickly the media outlets were so ready to jump all over a story of “Kate’s diet dilemma”. Somehow I do not believe this princess will handle bashing publicity in the manner of her predecessors, nor do I think the wonderful, caring Prince William will allow her to be subjected to such treatment. I believe this is the love of his life, other than his mother, and he will not allow every moment of their lives to become a news story.
