Have I Passed This Way?
Where am I?
Have I passed this way?
I’m frightened;
I feel so alone.
People are here,
faces vaguely familiar.
They seem to know me;
they call me by name.
Where am I?
Have I passed this way?
I inquired of my destination
and each time felt assured.
Answers are unclear.
I can’t recall where I am to go,
nor do I know the reason I must.
A stranger to myself, yet others know me.
Where am I?
Have I passed this way?
Head, spinning; Heart, pounding in my chest.
I must find my way.
Confusion suffocates me.
Fear is paralyzing.
Loneliness weeps.
…I have no more tears.
Where am I?
Have I passed this way?
…I’ve lost my way; please help me…
...I feel so alone.
