A visit with Santa Clause is a great way to bring in the spirit of the holiday, and in Atlanta there are many places to visit Ole Saint Nick while he is in town.
Of course all of the area malls will host a Santa Clause event. Visiting Santa in the malls is always free, however to get a photo of the occasion, a photo package must be purchased. Photo packaes cost various amounts. No personal cameras are allowed. Kids can sit in Santa's lap and share all of their wants and wishes and get a special candy cane with no charge. Malls in Atlanta participating in Santa stops include Lenox Mall at 3393 Peachtree Rd.NE(pets can also have their photo taken at Lenox Mall); Greenbriar Mall at 2841 Greenbriar Pkwy.SW; and Northlake Mall located at 4800 Briarcliff Road. Check with each mall to inquire about dates and times for Santa visits.
If you would rather skip the crowds, traffic, and hustle and bustle of the malls, there are still many additional opportunities to visit with Santa in Atlanta. Marietta Square, for example, will hold a special tree lighting ceremony with Santa as the guest of honor. After this one-day event, Santa will be there each weekend until Christmas to gather all of the children's holiday wishes.
Life University also offers the Lights of Life where visitors can take a spectacular tour of the beautiful Christmas lights and decorations inside Christmas Village, where Santa is waiting at the end. There is no fee, however, donations are urged. Photos with Santa will be taken and are available for purchase.
Another great event you will not want to miss is the Winter Wonderland at Bass Pro Shops. Bass Pro Shops is located at 5900 Sugarloaf Parkway at Discover Mills. This event is free for all, and has many great things to do the entire family will love. Free photos with Santa are available, as well as crafts, coloring, games, and more for all ages. This event takes place through Christmas Eve.
You might also want to stop by a Walgreens location near you to take a minute to see Santa. One day during the month of December Santa will be inside of the chain drug store, offering free photos. Additional photos and packages are also available for a small charge. To find out the dates and a Walgreens store near you, visit their web site at www.walgreens.com.
