Who needs a playoff in college football? The question of a playoff system in college football has arisen in the past couple of years and to the educated people that have the least bit of common sense, this should be a simple question but like all things that seem simple, there is always someone who has to come in and make it complicated. The “someone” in this story are the presidents of the conferences and universities. All of these so-called decision-makers are afraid that if a playoff system is implemented they will lose money; and god forbid if that ever happens. If they would take a step back they would see that if a playoff system was implemented they would make money. They would make money because of all of the extra games that would be played and all of the extra TV time it would give them. Do they even care to think about this? The answer to that question is no. They are afraid that if you get rid of the bowl system, then you will have to get rid of the sponsors of the different bowls which ultimately are the ones who give them money. Hey, here is a thought, why not keep the bowls and your precious sponsors and you could still implement a playoff system. Now that was not so hard now was it?
