Christmas was a great time when I was a child all my aunties and uncles and grandparent's would gather at one house with all my cousins and sister and me then we would all stay the night and open our presents in the morning and have a huge family Christmas dinner. After the dinner would be the time for games, this was great fun as we would all take part and the laughter could be heard down the street.
The first thing would be the Children's Concert.
This is where the children ( my sister and me and my cousins) would have been rehearsing our songs in the few weeks running up to Christmas and we would then get up and sing in front of the family. We would do magic tricks, dance and sing.
One of the games we ould play after was Story Maker.
This is where you all get a piece of paper and a pen or pencil. Then you write on the paper a girls name, you fold the paper down so no one can see what you have written and then you pass it to the person next to you. Then you write a boys name fold the paper down and pass it along, then you have to write where they met, fold and pass, then what she said, fold and pass, then what he said fold and pass and finally what they did, fold and pass. Each player then has to read out the paper they have in front of them and some of the readings are really funny. Keep it clean but silly for the children playing the game.
Another great game is Chocolate Dice Race.
This is where you get a large bar of chocolate and wrap it up in lots of layers of wrapping paper, then you put it on a table with a knife and fork. Get a dice and each person playing the game gets one roll of the dice. As soon as someone throws a six you have to jump up and begin to get into the bar of chocolate with the knife and fork. You cannot use your hands at all. Stay at the table until the next person who throws a six takes over your place. This is hilarious as when the chocolate bar has been revealed, you can only eat it with the knife and fork, so this is difficult and funny to try before someone throws a six again.
