Some say that “still small voice” within is intuition. Some say the “voice” is the voice of God. Some say there is no difference. Whatever your belief, tuning in to that voice or feeling is the first and more important step to developing your natural instincts. So how does one tune in to that inner knowing? It can be done in three simple steps.
Step One:
When faced with a challenge or decision that on the surface you are uncertain about, it is best to take a moment or two and listen. Yes, listen. Not to the sales man, your family or best buddies advised; although each can be helpful in their own way, but listen to what your body mind and spirit are telling you.
We react on three levels, though we are not always aware of that process. We may get butterflies in our stomach or our body can tingle with joy. Our mind, though it tends to argue with us a lot will way all the options and rationalize a “right” decision for us. If body and mind are reacting in sync, the next test will be a soul or deeper response. One can even take the time to ask our higher self if this is the right choice for us, which brings us to the next step.
Step Two
Our higher selves will always only choose the best for us. It will never steer you wrong. While it may sound silly to ask our Higher Selves if buying a specific product is right for you, you will be surprised to find, that as you practice this routine, answers will become clearer and clearer. Some have suggested that even holding an item near your solar plexus are (just above the navel) and asking will also work.
Step Three
Practice, practice practice. When something does not “feel” right you might want to take a second look at your decision. Study it further, is there anything about it that is popping out as not in your best interest? If something feels wonderful and perfect and your body, mind and spirit are nudging you forward, take some steps in that direction and check in with yourself to see how it all feels.
Going slowly at first is the key to mastering the art of listening to your-self. As you do, you will find that not only are you making better choices in your life, but that you are also drawing better choices into your world.
In time, listening to your inner guidance will become second nature!.
