Christian's understanding of salvation

conversion story in the book of Acts ended with baptism. ALL the scriptures must be obeyed. This is a subject of large controversy between many denominations. But as we look at James 1:22 "Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says." We ought to obey the commands and not take anything away from the scriptures. We are to obey every one of them. If you have not been fully immersed (as commanded by the bible) due to modern changes of some denominations, any Christian who has been may help you. It is a simple process and you will be very welcomed as you are added to the body of Christ. I urge you to visit the non-denominational Church of Christ near your area which is a bible based church without man-made creeds or rules. You may go to www.churchzip.com to locate the Church of Christ nearest you. Also, since this is only a short document which lacks most of the story of Jesus, I encourage you to read the bible, the inspired word of God, so that you may grow and mature in Christ and get to know God better. Jesus says in John 8:19, "If you knew me, you would know my Father also." "I and the Father are one." John 10:30. By reading the scriptures you will learn more about the meaning of the resurrection of Christ, the Holy Spirit, as well as other events, and what they mean to us. By reading about four small chapters (approximately 20 minutes) per day, you can finish the entire bible in one year. One important thing to keep in mind is that there are no deeds that we can do on our part to make it to heaven. It is only by the Grace of God that is accessed through our Faith that we are saved. Consider this verse: "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God not by works, so that no one can boast." Ephesians 2:8, 9. Also remember that we can only be saved through Jesus Christ. "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved." Acts 4:12

DO THE BEST THAT YOU CAN TO BE FAITHFUL UNTIL DEATH:

"Be faithful until death and I will give you the crown of life Revelation 2:10

Romans 3:10 tells us that "There is no one righteous, not even one". As humans, we will continue to sin on occasions. "But if we walk in the light as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his son, purifies us from all sin" 1 John 1:7. Christians are forgiven by repenting. If you have strayed from the church, Christians are restored by repenting as well. The blood of Jesus continues to purify us. Continue walking in the light! - In Christ Jesus.
