Him from the dead, you shall be saved. For whoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved" - Romans 10:9,13. "Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven" Matthew 10:32. In this next step we confess, or acknowledge, that Jesus is the Son of God.
5) "We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the father, we too may live a new life" Romans 6:4. "and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a good conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ" 1 Peter 21. In this step we are baptized. Baptism is an act of obedience and represents the burial of our old self with Jesus Christ, the resurrection (we are buried and resurrected with Christ), and our new birth as we come out of the water. It is where our transformation takes place and we die to our sins and are reborn. It is where our sins are washed away. The bible describes us as a new creature, hence born again. In the bible baptism was always understood as full immersion (burial), which is what the Greek word means. "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of our sins, And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." Acts 2:38. This verse shows that we receive forgiveness and the Holy Spirit upon immersion. "For we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body.." 1Corinthians 12:13. This verse shows that it is upon baptism that we enter the Christ body. It also shows the Spirit's involvement in our baptism.
Note: Infants cannot believe, repent, or confess faith by mouth and have not reached the age of accountability. Also, Baptiso, the Greek word from which baptize is derived, means "to immerse, submerge" as biblical examples show, including the baptism of Jesus, himself, in Matthew 3:16 as "he went up out of the water". Infant baptism is a modern practice and was not performed in biblical times.
At this point, if you have taken these steps, you are now forgiven of your sins and have received the gift of the Holy Spirit and Eternal Life. You are now part of the body of Christ, a member of His body (the church). You are now saved from the wrath to come! You are now In Christ.
As you can see, certain steps need to be taken before being baptized. Baptism, ALONE, does not save you, and neither do the other steps alone. Every
