Getting into the college that's right for you

First you must know what you want from college.

What are your career and academic goals. What are the best colleges for this?

What about your personality and social interests? What are the best colleges?

Are there other interests? Location? Affordability?

Make a list of these.

You can research the colleges online. Colleges have their websites.

Recommendations? If you others who have attended these colleges then talk to these people. What colleges do they recommend?

If you can visit these colleges, then visit them, talk to the students, talk to professors, learn about the general campus and the atmosphere.

You should research colleges and there are many helpful websites that can provide you with guidelines on this.

Then of course you need to know what to do to get into your selected colleges. Application forms, SAT scores, admission requirements, schedules for applying, etc.
Make sure that you know what is practically necessary to get into your desired college.

In addition, you must have the academic preparation for college. Make sure that you know what this is. Talk to your teachers, your guidance counsellors. Read literature for those interested in college.
