Statistics aside, there is one major reason why The Hall of fame has no room for Barry Bonds. Taking steriods corrupted the outstanding career Barry WAS having. Coming up Barry was everything you wanted in a player, he was what you call a 5 tool player. He could hit for power, hit for average, run, field and had a good arm. And the obsession with the long ball must have went to his head. But here is the main reason; Pete Rose may never get into The Hall, why because he gambled, gambled on the game and on his team. And for that he will most likely be kept out, despite his more than obvious numbers. And if thats how baseball wants to play it thats fine, but what Barry did specifically enhanced his game. I know before the steroid's Barry was well on his way to the Hall, but then why take them at all? If Pete Rose is going to be kept out for gambling which only benefited his pockets(and he wasnt right either) than there is no way they can put Barry in. Im sure Hank Aaron is pulling up there that Barry never breaks his Home Run record because he has lost all credibility, and respect. After turning in a Hall of Fame career, pre- steroid use, Barry has gone from 1st ballot hall of famer, to a first class hall of shamer! (sorry i had to say it).
