How to write an "About Us" page for a company website

The "About Us" page is an important part of any company website. See it as your calling card. This will most probably be one of the first pages people will visit so it's important to make your company shine. It is used to reinforce the trust of anybody reading it as well as giving them the assurance that you can fulfil their needs. It will either lead them to becoming a customer or leaving and using one of your competitors, which is obviously not something you need. 

It is very important to start off with a brief history of your company following with any experience that you and your team have in this field. Make it interesting for your potential customers to read. Let them know what your purpose of starting the company is and briefly describe all your teams' roles within the company. Write this as if you were actually saying it to somebody. Be polite and friendly and they will be more likely to purchase your products. When describing you and your team, it is a good idea to use photos of the team members too. Even if you are a brand new business, this makes you look like you are a professional business.

Different people have different ideas when it comes to providing your personal details - email, fax, phone etc. But by including these details in to your "About Me" page, it builds a lot of trust and confidence to your visitors. Do not brag on your page about how brilliant you are but instead make every word credible to you. The whole purpose of the "About Me" page is to establish your credibility so keep this in mind when writing it up.  

Let them know why your product is better than other similar products that are out on the market and why they should buy from you. Do not make this long and boring but instead say it straight to the point. Sometimes the lesser really is the for the better.

It is sometimes a good idea to check out how other businesses have done their "About Me" pages if you are completely new to the idea. Do not copy other companies' pages, but just use it to get a feel of how they work. If you are not comfortable with writing it yourself, then you can always look in to hiring a professional to do it for you.
