There are many reasons why people may prefer to be poor, rather than swimming in money. Here's the top five:
5) You never have to choose. Rich people have unlimited choices, which theoretically could be very time consuming. Who wants to spend all day trying to decide what to have for lunch? I don't. Being poor, my choices are limited to the Super Value Menu. There's only like six items on that menu, thereby cutting my decision-making time down to a minimum.
4) Worrying about my stuff. I have no stuff. No shiney, new car or expensive jewelry. Just crap no one else wants. So, I can park as close to the door to Wal-Mart as I want and wear my fake diamonds without a care in the world. Scratch my car - please. Steal my bracelet - it only cost a few bucks to begin with.
3) Dressing to impress. Upon first glance, others already know I am poor. They aren't expecting anything out of me and, if I do dress to impress, it's a much bigger deal because it's like watching a caterpillar change into a butterfly. When you're a butterfly to begin with, no one cares what you change in to.
2) Paying bills. Ever heard, "You can't squeeze blood froma turnip?" Well, when you're poor, who cares if you pay your bills because even if the creditors garnish your wages, they aren't gonna get much anyway. If you don't pay your bills when you are rich, expect liens, lawsuits and maybe even jail.
1) WHO AM I KIDDING? I WANT TO BE RICH!

Yes, poverty does have its privileges. But they aren't like the privileges the rich enjoy; they are much more rewarding.
