Hunting a job is very difficult these. Most people spend months now, sometimes years looking for work. They barely think about a career in a certain field. It's hard to imagine that today is one of the most difficult days in peoples lives. 2 million losing benefits from being unemployed and it being Christmas of all times. Christmas the time of giving and receiving.
Finding a career how ever could be a lot easier than you think. There are now ways to get financial assistance like grant money and loan money for you to go through a fast tracking program in a degree of your choosing. Programs like Computer Science and English majors or Art majors, even nursing majors can get through there first 2 years of school in less than a year if you are with the right college. Changing majors to a field where could do this is quite easy. You just contact the school of your choice and enroll in there online programs. The online programs makes it possible for you to go to school with out having to be physically in school. Hating classrooms and teachers, it made easier for me to do it this way. Many feel like I do and that teachers don't give them enough attention when they don't understand something. Then just expect you to know and learn it for the test or quiz.
On-line learning has come a long way in the past few years. They now have classes that you can take over the course of like a forum or you can do web classes where you log on to a site and its through a web camera class option that the school has. You go to the school and get the financial information straightened out, fill out your paperwork, and sign up with an advisor for your classes. You are better off to go locally for this because if there is ever a question you have then you can talk to teachers at the school about that subject or use there library of resources that are available.
Knowing when to switch to a career is rough. If you are working a full time job, you need to realize that going back to school means you make the same effort as if you were in the classes on a daily basis. Balancing work and family and a career can get you going when you start your career in school. Doing what you love now in school and training for the career path you want to take will help you better understand the career path you chose. It's easier than it sounds. Make sure you choose a path that will be around for a long time. Take for example: if you like working with cars the you should become a mechanic(everybody is going to need there cars worked on). The reason behind this line of thinking is because with the new technology coming out for new vehicles they will need someone that understands this technology and how to repair and fix the problems with out having to take it to a dealer to have it cost thousands of dollars to repair. Another example would be that of choosing any position with in the medical field. If you do that then you will have options for a job for a very long time considering that people get sick, stay sick, or need constant medical assistance and help.
Keeping these ideas in mind you should do your research first. Brainstorm, compare your do's and don'ts, compare your likes and dislikes. Be thorough in knowing that is what you want to do and that you'll be happy doing it. The best advice that you can be given is tha tif you are working right now, you should stay working. It's easier in the long run.
