Christmas is not becoming too commercialized; people are just being too greedy. As it has been told over and over again, Christmas is not about gifts. Yet people still focus on the biggest and best gifts. The stores are just providing what the consumers want.

People have been complaining for years that Christmas is too commercialized and too expensive. It is very saddening for these people because somewhere along the way they have missing what Christmas is all about. It doesn’t matter how many gifts can be put under the Christmas tree or how expensive the gifts are.

Christmas is about a baby named Jesus who was born in a manager. It is said Jesus is the son of God and was crucified. Regardless of your belief of this; Christmas is also about family, friends, kindness, joy, and happiness. All of which doesn’t have to cost a lot of money.

Every year people pull out their old Christmas decorations. They may be old, they may not mean much to other people, but to them it warms their heart and brings back happy memories of past Christmases. These decorations don’t cost money, except for when they where first bought or made, but they means more then money to them. They start putting their decorations up early because of the joy and happiness the decorations bring to them.

Since some people are getting an early start and enjoying Christmas earlier, stores are also starting and getting everything out early as well. It is a simple and normal business practice of supply and demand. If people are getting ready for Christmas early, then the stores will need Christmas items out earlier. Replacement bulb, lights, garland, or anything else they need to replace or want to buy for the coming Christmas season.

The stores pulling out the Christmas items early are not the reasons why people go into debt. The stores are just paying attention to supply and demand. Consumers need to control themselves. After all it is the consumer’s money, the consumer’s decision to buy, and the consumer’s budget. It would be unfair and sad if the stores were not allowed to meet the consumer demand. People would not be allowed to have so many different and unique Christmas items because the items wouldn’t be there to buy.

Overall what does commercialization mean? People complain that the Christmas season and Christmas items are starting too early and lasting too long. How can friendship, happiness, joy, and kindness last too long? Why do these things
