It stands not near, it's position is rear
Sometimes it's great, at times we fear
The thought of the past can be good or bad
The result on your face, can be happy or sad
It is what has gotten us to where we currently are
Some things of the past, so distant, so far
The past for a reason, it is not what lies ahead
The past should be buried, Is what I think they said
I hold true to leaving it behind
For I go forward, and don't rewind
For my past, whether joyful or so dark and black
It's the past for a reason, and I'll never turn back
