Poetry: The past

by Christian Rios

Created on: December 02, 2010

It stands not near, it's position is rear

Sometimes it's great, at times we fear

The thought of the past can be good or bad

The result on your face, can be happy or sad

It is what has gotten us to where we currently are

Some things of the past, so distant, so far

The past for a reason, it is not what lies ahead

The past should be buried, Is what I think they said

I hold true to leaving it behind

For I go forward, and don't rewind

For my past, whether joyful or so dark and black

It's the past for a reason, and I'll never turn back
