The Neverland of our everyday lives. The mystical mindset it spreads throughout the world is beyond incredible, considering people change trends, styles, and fashion quicker than they change the oil in their cars. It is a place where most average day to day people never imagine living in without being a famous movie star, singer, or professional athlete. The place of power, the headquarters for what is known as 'The Media'.
Hollywood, California ladies and gentlemen.
It deserves an introduction, for it is the city that airs the most shows in North America, and probably even the world. It's fair to say that 80% of the influence that Hollywood inflects into society, is not a good one.
The thought of a social outbreak of insanity and mental brainwashing that makes young boys think that murder and guns are cool, and allows the female youth to think that being revealing is attractive. Subconsiously, we abide by the standard that Hollywood sets, when really it's just a city full of fame and money, that coincedentally has a well known and respected actor in Arnold Schwarzenegger, as their present governor for the state of California.
As humans, we find ourselves once or twice, or maybe even a few times in our lives, looking for answers. A reason, a purpose; basically direction. For many of us, this is a process we can adjust to on our own terms, and we deal with it however it makes most sense. Sadly, for the vast majority of people, primarily youth, hollywood, and the media bubble that is blown into their faces, is what they use to find themseves, and it allows them to create a temporary purprose and meaning to their lives.
The lifestyle lived in Hollywood is in fact a dream in the eyes of most people because there will never be a point where each and every one of us will strive to be famous and achieve it. Life is not meant to work that way, although we'd all wish it was. We are all pre assigned roles, and for the fortunate ones, that role could just be in a movie, commercial, or breakout music video. We've all dreamed of being famous and having the media spotlight, the attention, the paparazzi, and yes as much as we'd all get sick of it eventually; we've all even thought of the amount of rumours people would be spreading. We've all had that imagination or thought because that's what Hollywood has done to each and every one of us throughout the years, most recently having the most effect it's ever had in society.
We tend to ignore that just because it's on our television screens, radios, stereos, or magazines; doesn't mean that it's our personal guidebook in life. Crimes still happen in California, in Hollywood, and in many cases involving some of the most recgonized names in the game. It is just another city, but only with more money and more attention. It is what you make of it, but I suggest that if you're going to make anything of it at all; make the best of it.
