Brides can look stunning, when they use the cool colors of winter as a backdrop to the fairytale beauty they can create, using this season's latest collection of makeup colours. Winter bride's can use cool silvers, plums, deep reds, pinks and blacks with or without sparkle to create a dramatic, modern vamp look, or opt for smokey browns and soft peaches for a natural, fresh looking beauty.
No matter what look is chosen, the careful application of makeup combined with long lasting and waterproof formulas are essential for makeup that lasts the whole day and withstands the elements.
Moisturise
To prevent skin drying out warm a little moisturiser in your hands and apply to the skin on the face and neck. When dry, apply concealer to any blemishes and blend well.
Foundation
Choosing a foundation close to the natural skin colour will even the skin tone without adding artificial colour. This is more flattering in the harsh light of winter than some warmer colours. Use a long lasting makeup and apply with a foundation brush or sponge. Finish with a dusting of powder. For makeup that stays put from dawn to dusk try airbrush foundation, which gives a flawless, long lasting and natural look, suits any skin type and lasts up to 18 hours.
Eyes
Smooth a little primer over the eye area before applying eyeshadow. This makes the eyeshadow last longer and prevents creasing. Use waterproof eye liners and mascara to prevent unsightly runs and streaks. Brows can be shaped and sealed by adding a small quantity of clear mascara and brushing through. Applying a little non shimmer highlighter to the arch of the brow lifts and opens the eye area without looking overly made up.
Blusher
Colour can be added using blusher. Choose a soft colour that is similar to the natural blush of the cheeks. Smile and place the blusher on the apple of the cheeks. The correct blusher will enhance the eye and skin colour without looking too "rosy".
Bronzer
A little bronzer can be swept over the temples, cheeks and nose to give a natural, healthy looking glow. Always think natural, as the day turns to night, a little more can be added.
Lipstick
Choose a long lasting lipstick and/or lip-gloss. For best results choose natural berry colours if you are medium to dark and beige pinks for paler tones. A lip stain is a long lasting alternative but must be used with a moisturising balm as it tends to dry the lips.
Following these tips will ensure your winter wedding makeup looks flawless and lasts all day and night.
