When you consider this argument you must always take into account what you want from a gaming system. In my opinion, the Xbox 360 is better but only just. As it offers a wider range of material for all users.

While the PS3 has a better graphical engine and more in depth games the 360 is by far the better console for online and in general fun gaming play. While if you take the 360 online you have to pay for it the amount of content you get makes it worth the money. You get regular updates and news from the 360 world. You get review shows and even offers for free or cut price DLC. The PS3 offers this also but not with as much quality as the 360.

You also have a wider range of games when it comes to the 360 and much more downloadable content for existing games. The 360 is much more user friendly than the PS3 as it allows for all ages tom play whereas it seems that the PS3 is always aimed at the 16+ age range. While this isn't always a bad thing it can become cumbersome to navigate the home screen.

Next you must consider the price while the PS3 is only slightly more expensive than the 360 these days, considering how much more you get with the 360 it inevitably isn't worth it. Thinking back to the days when the PS3 was almost $250 more than a 360 is very disheartening.

However it isn't all doom and gloom for the PS3 as it does have its good points. Its PlayStation network i.e PlayStation online is free of charge and offers many great services. It has a blu-ray player built in for all the people who enjoy HD movies. The blu-ray player also allows for massive games to be created for the PS3 that can be put onto a single disc. You also get an internet explorer with your PS3 making it a sort of Sony PC hybrid. While the internet explorer can be prone to crashes and freezing it can be a great tool for watching things like movies and the BBC iPlayer (UK). Seeing films online on a massive HD TV is much more fulfilling than on a PC screen.

When you take into account everything both systems have their merits and both deserve praise for the great systems they are however the 360 comes out on top and is only improving its service and efficiency everyday.
