Just because a gift looks expensive does not mean that it is. There are many beautiful gifts that appear to be worth much more than they actually are, and these can fit both your budget and your gift requirements. The following ideas can help you impress for less.
Silver/costume jewelry
You will find many beautiful jewelry pieces that are very reasonable but look far more expensive. For instance, you can purchase sterling silver pieces that have actual gemstones in them for very reasonable prices, especially during the deals before the holidays. These will often look to some as white gold, and they may think it is worth more. You can also purchase a piece that is gold filled or plated. If your gift recipient likes to wear costume jewelry then you can buy a piece with crystals or a diamond substitute. It may look like it costs thousands but be well under $50. You will find a wide selection of such products at discount and department stores.
Discount store purse
Many people are accustomed to designer purses that cost hundreds or even thousands of dollars. The cost of many of these items is oftentimes a reflection of the brand more than of the attractiveness of the actual product. You may be able to go to a discount store such as Ross and purchase a beautiful and expensive looking purse for far less than you would pay for a designer purse. Many who see it would not know the difference.
Personalized gift
In the past many personalized gifts were very expensive. The Internet has created many new businesses, and there are websites that offer expensive looking pieces for relatively inexpensive prices. Such places include www.personalizationmall.com and Personal Creations. You could get a glass picture frame that is etched with a poem that you wrote. You could get a silvertone pocket watch, compact mirror or box for relatively reasonable prices.
Large photograph in a frame
Purchasing large photographs was extremely expensive in the past. Now you can get a 16x20 print for under $10 at some online photo labs. You can get an inexpensive readymade frame from Michael's Arts and Crafts on sale or using a 40% off coupon. Combine those and you can have a beautiful piece of photographic art that may look like it cost hundreds of dollars, but actually cost $30 or less.
You can purchase a beautiful gift for someone without spending a lot of money. You may want to consider one of the above gift ideas.
