5 Ways to Earn Holiday Income to Beat the Budget Busters
Nothing brings out the spendthrift in a person like the holiday season. Whether it be due to the traditional gift-giving roller coaster, or the desire to show thanks and love to another, or just getting caught up in the hype, the gift buying/giving goes rampant at the holiday time.
This rampant gifting, often without consideration of expense, can really "bust the budget." Many a budget is forgotten at this time. Spending is the focus. Then, come January, the remorse sets in.
Others get so down and depressed just thinking about all the gift-giving going on that they can't be a part of, because they do consider their budget. Maybe you are the one receiving gifts, and you would like to reciprocate. How can you do that?
There are many simple way to increase holiday income. Here are five good ones. Pick your best choice and go for that budget enhancing extra income.
GIFT WRAPPING
Part of the joy of gifting is in the presentation. A beautifully wrapped present, with a lovely bow that coordinates with the paper is a joy to behold, and a joy to present. Wrapping a present is not really hard, but many people panic at the thought. You can capitalize on this by advertising gift wrapping services. You can do this in several ways. Some stores will allow you to set up a gift wrapping table just outside or inside their doors. You can sell the value of your services to them by convincing that your service will inspire people to buy more gifts.
SHOPPING
Some people love shopping, others hate it. You can offer your services of shopping for those who hate it. Offer to take their list and find the perfect gift. Or, you can offer to search for a gift based on a little information about people on their list, such as hobbies, sizes, decorating colors, etc. Then, go find that perfect gift based on that information.
PART TIME OR TEMPORARY JOB
Most stores enjoy a great influx of customers in the period before the holidays. You can take advantage of this by getting a part or full time temporary job. It might even work into a permanent if you want that and you do a great job. Start looking in late October or early November, though. Most stores start hiring their holiday help around that time.
