Poetry: Easier said than done

by Frances Babauta

Created on: November 29, 2010

I have decided to stop pursuing

as he has not shown interest.

But yet there are unsaid feelings

that have caused me some unrest.

Lately there have been hints

that perhaps it isn't so...

that perhaps he does do harbor

some things I do not know.

Thoughts are swarming in my head

that he may be in efforts

to win back my favor,

of which I have ignored.

There may be someone else

who's captured my attention,

who possesses what I look for,

if I may so mention.

This other is so lively,

so opposite of me.

I find him very refreshing,

but what does it all mean?

I've thought about this quite a bit.

Do I entertain this new pique?

Or should I still be interested

in my first pick?
