If I Can't Be Home For Christmas
I may be over here in Iraq
Trying to settle a score,
But I am not the one
That started this here war.
If I can't be home for Christmas
Then I just wanted you to know,
I'll send all of my love home to you
And wrap it with a bow.
I'll try my best to be there
To see the kids open their gifts,
And just maybe walk through the door
And give your heart a lift.
But just in case something happens
And I can't grant all of your wishes,
I'll send all of my love home to you
If I can't be home for Christmas.
Give the kids a hug for me
And let them know that they are missed,
I will send a card home just for them
Let them know, that it's been kissed.
I will send a special one home
That will be just for you my dear,
I want so much to be home for Christmas
Instead of being here.
