There are several great cartoons for children nowadays. I will admit there are several that are completely inappropriate, but for the most part the majority are harmless.
Let's stars with the Disney Channel. "Charlie and Lola" is a fabulous peek into the lives of a brother and sister pair from England. They look after each other and play games all the time. Charlie really helps Lola understand the happenings in everyday life, a great big brother to Lola!

"Little Einsteins", starring Leo,Annie,June,Quincy,and of course Rocket. These prodigal pipsqueaks travel around in their friend rocket solving problems. Every adventure is set to classical music and colored with famous art. This show is amazing for the fact that it brings music and art into young children's lives.
On to Cartoon Network now. "Pokemon" though highly annoying to the average adult is a great show for kids. The show teaches perseverance and friendship. It also shows that being a "bad guy" doesn't lead you anywhere.
"Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends" is my favorite Cartoon Network show of all. Foster's is the place imaginary friends go when their creators have grown too old for them. This show is very funny and full of, well, imagination.
Finally we get to PBS, the go to channel for kid's shows. "Between the Lions" is an amazing show which focuses on books and reading. The lion family and their friends help kids grasp the concept of words and word sounds.
"Sesame Street" of course is a vital part of the PBS line up. Their focus on letters and numbers is phenomenal. They also provide a mean free environment for children, a place for every child despite appearance or physical limitation.
There are tons of kids shows out there. The best way to decide what's best for your child is to watch with them! Then you know what is getting into you child's head.
Also remember though t.v. is a great tool for entertainment, you need to turn it off from time to time. Some of the best fun comes from you.
