Poetry: Selfish

by C.V.Rajan

Created on: November 25, 2010

“Don’t be selfish” said the saint

“Share what you have to remove others’ pain”.

“Yes sir” said I; “I do have compassion”

“Will you donate one if you have two Television?”

“Yes Sir, no problem, I do care”

“Will you give one to another if you have two cars?”

“Yes Sir, no problem, I am generous too”

“Will you give a cow to another if you have two?”

“Hmm… There is some problem in this case”

“Why, when you have no issues in other case?”

“I don’t have two TVs nor two cars

But I do have two cows to take care!”

(Based on a little story narrated by Mata Amritanandamayi)
