Like a flaming star
the palingenetic, deathless phoenix
ascends amidst roiling tongues of fire
lifted unto the heavens
by the invisible breaths
of mythical gods
streaking toward the naked light
of the second birth
defeating that mirage called death
triumphantly riding thundering
ribbons of flame toward the aurora
of a new genesis.

Sleeping awakens life, to die from a wakening death.
From the very beginning,
Awakening in spirit or in the mind.
Sweet fruit or hardend rind.
