Makeup tips: The tools you need for easy application

So you have selected the perfect shade of powder, the rosiest blush and the silkiest lipstick. However, you are never ready to apply your makeup without the essential tools. The utensils that you use to apply your makeup have a direct effect on your end results. Following is a guide for selecting the right makeup tools.

Powder

Facial powder is a wonderful cosmetic because it helps to even out your skin tone while controlling shine in the t-zone. Despite the amazing effects of powder, it will never look its best if applied with inadequate utensils. When applying powder, your two main options are the brush and the sponge. Sponges are usually used for applying pressed powder. Brushes are often used for applying loose powder. The brush is usually the best option; it yields the most natural-looking results. Even if you prefer to use pressed powder, you might want to invest in a brush for application. Although the sponge usually comes with the compact, they are not the best option – often, sponges yield cakey results. Just make sure that you invest in a brush that is large enough for you.

Blush

Powdered blush works wonders for the face. It grants your cheeks a rosy glow without spending any time beneath the sun’s damaging rays. If you choose to wear blush, you must select the right kind of brush to do so. Often, blush comes in a compact. The brushes included in the compact are often too small to do an adequate job. You must purchase the brush separately. When shopping for a powder brush, look for a large, slanted brush. The slant is important for capturing the exact contour of your cheekbone.

Lipstick

Even if you purchase lipstick in a tube, it is best to apply it with a makeup brush. Applying lipstick directly from the tube often comes out messy and uneven. In order to get the exact curves and contours of your lips, you need a lipstick brush. Lipstick brushes are soft and extraordinarily thin. When you are shopping for one, make sure the brush feels soft to the touch. A lipstick brush that is too hard will yield clumpy results.

Overall, even if you purchase the highest quality cosmetics, it will never look its best without the correct tools. It should be noted that it is imperative to keep your makeup utensils clean. Cleanse them with soap and hot water on a regular basis. Also, never share utensils with anyone else – doing so could lead to infection.
