The death penalty is by far the hardest situation to deal with. From a Christian point of view, it sends the wrong message that it is okay to kill people. Yet it is neccessary when you must preserve law and order for crimes which involve killing others. So another message would be sent if you did not allow any justification in the matter.

Murder is immoral. Whether you would be a young child or a middle-aged adult who commited the act, there is no justification for your actions. Anybody else who would side with this individual should ask why they are involved AT ALL with them.

Just because you can support it does not mean you agree with it. Because the person who commited the actions had their reasons for doing so. Perhaps they were better people before they started killing. However, we must refuse to believe that once they cross a line that it doesn't stop them from doing it again. If the individual begins to like the idea of killing more, they feel they can get away with it. It is no differant than having a pedophile living in your neighborhood after he has been released from prison. It does not matter if he is rehabilitated or not. There will automatically be a label put on him. Even if it draws opinions from others, his actions are still horrific. The wrong message is sent to have him be around your children. Then it becomes the instant fear of just waiting. Once he feels he has fooled everyone, he will do it again. The same actions apply to the person who has commited murder. If he gets out of prison, and the police or other authorities fail to keep a close eye on him, he will do it again.

It is painful to see any army or law enforcement officer who has killed in the defense of either our neighborhood or our country. They are people who risk their lives to preserve our life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness. Whenever they have killed, you know that there are moments when they are upset, and look to God for forgiveness. All you can do if you are their friend, family, or loved one, is be there to comfort them. You must remember that they refuse to allow anyone from commiting horrific acts that threaten our lives. However, you CANNOT excuse any army or police officer if they operate outside of the law for their own satisfaction. Because they become not just a vigilantee, but a cold-blooded murderer. They cannot cross the line they are sworn to uphold.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion when they criticize people who believe in the death penalty. However, what does it say about you if you allow a murderer to run scott-free? Did you send the right message to your children about letting a murderer get away? When does it become right or wrong? Every action has an effect on others. You have to ask yourself if the world would be a safer place with any type of law ennforcement, or without it? Do you get fewer terrorism acts or more World Trade Center bombings? It's the same idea that applies with the death penalty. Do you get less or more with a murderer? Especially, if it involves your friends or family member. You can try to rehabilitate a damaged individual after they commit murder. However, it depends on the murderer themselves, and what they do that matters most. Yet it's a very fragile situation where you can't REALLY take a chance because you would be scared. Unless you cracked down, and show propper ways ways to discipline them, you would be no differant then they are.

It is a cruel method to use the death penalty towards murderers. Yet the regulation is quite clear. If no action is taken to enforce it, everyone is considered equally guilty.
