Reflections: What turned me off Christianity

What turned me off Christianity?

Are we talking about "Christianity" or "Churchianity" here? There is a huge difference if you care to do some research.

"Christianity" is based on the teachings and example of Jesus Christ.
"Churchianity", on the other hand is based upon man's corruption of what Christ taught. It has also adopted things from ancient pagan beliefs and passed them off as Christian teaching. They are not the same at all!

Let's do some comparisons to illustrate the point.

Christ taught us to honor the Father as he did; to worship the Father as he did. He taught us to honor or "hallow" God's name.

The 'church' honors the son more than the Father. They have elevated him to a position that would make Jesus cringe. He always deferred to the will of his Father in all things, never once implying an equality with the one who 'sent him'. (John 17:3) Jesus plainly stated that 'the Father was greater' than he was. (John 14:28; 17:3; 20:17; Mark 15:34; Revelation 1:1; 3:12)

If Jesus was equal to his Father, as a part of a godhead, then why would he need to worship another part of himself?

If the Father is Jesus' God, how can the son also be God? Does the Father worship Jesus? Where are we taught to worship the holy spirit?
There is no triune godhead taught in scripture, but you will find plenty of them in paganism. No idea of a trinity existed in Christian teaching before the 4th century.

God's divine name is not "hallowed" or reverenced by the church at all. In fact you will never hear it uttered. It has been removed from most Bible translations and the title "LORD" substituted over 7,000 times in the OT alone. "LORD" is 'what' God is, it is not 'who' he is. His name is rich in meaning.

Would a human author tolerate the removal and substitution of his name from his own work? Even hymn books have removed God's name from their songs of praise.

Was there divine direction to do this? Not according to Exodus 3:15, where God said, "“This is what you are to say to the sons of Israel, ‘JEHOVAH the God of your forefathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you."

According to the KJV he went on to say, "this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations."

Is there any indication there that the divine name should not be spoken? How long is 'for ever'? How many 'generations' were to reverence that wonderful name?

Jesus also taught us to keep our worship based entirely on God's word. The religious leaders
