Planning a romantic vacation in Georgia? The Southern state has much to offer couples looking to spend some special times with their significant other. Here are just a few areas of the state where you might consider vacating with your loved one.
Atlanta ~ If you are a couple on the go and are looking to pack as much sightseeing, shopping and events into your vacation as possible, Atlanta has all the flair you desire. Boasting some of the most magnificent luxury hotels in the country, you can shop and play by day and escape the city life in style by night. The list of attractions in Atlanta is endless including: the Georgia Aquarium, CNN Center, The High Museum of Art, Zoo Atlanta and Centennial Park. Plan an evening out on the town during your trip and enjoy a rock concert, Atlanta Ballet or Atlanta Symphony performance at Phillip's Arena, The Fox Theatre or The Tabernacle. Atlanta is known for it's hot nightlife, giving the city the nickname of "Hotlanta". From jazz clubs to hip-hop clubs to swanky cocktail bars, the diverse nightlife in Atlanta has something to offer everyone.
If Midtown's five star luxury hotels are not your style, check out one of Atlanta's many area Bed and Breakfast establishments. Several of these located in Atlanta are beautifully renovated 19 century Victorian homes.
North Georgia Mountains ~ Perhaps you are looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and retreat to the country for some rest and relaxation. Just an hour drive north of Atlanta In Helen, Sauttee, Hiawassee, and other North Georgia towns, couples will find a multitude of accommodation choices. From quaint cottages to extravagantly equipped cabins, you can tailor your romantic vacation, and for a reasonable price! Helen is the city to visit if you are looking for a mountain getaway combined with some light shopping and dining options. While the German-inspired town is bustling in October, throughout the remainder of the year, visitors will enjoy a quiet relaxing atmosphere. A few dozen shops, hundreds of area cabins and cottages, and some fun restaurants with bar maids serving up some authentic German grub, make exploring North Georgia a fun, quiet experience. Unicoi State Park and Annroa Ruby Falls are a short ten minute drive from Helen. A mountain getaway wouldn't be complete without breathtaking views and some time spent out in nature. The City of Helen offers it all.
