overbearing that we need to seek outside help. Please don't feel ashamed that you need to get help with the loss. It is normal to do this. To lose your pet is like losing your family member. So if we lose a family member and can't cope don't we go to the doctor for help. So aren't our pets our family members. So never regret that you need to reach out. You are a stronger person for admitting you can't do this alone. I applaud you for this.
6. Don't rush out to replace your beloved dog. This will not ease the pain any faster. And it's not fair to the new animal. You will expect the new dog to be like your beloved pet that passed. You will have all these new expectations and the new pet will not measure up and this new dog will get lost in the shuffle. And this isn't fair to this new pet. And if you feel like it's right then go for it.
So to all of you that are suffering or have suffered a loss my heart goes out to you. But remember this you have a wonderful angel protecting you from about. That loves you unconditionally.
I myself lost my furry best friend December 3, 2008. I dedicated this to Newton. Newton was a yellow lab and collie mix with beautiful big brown eyes. He was 13 years old & he was very ill. Newton seen me through the good the bad and the ugly. Whenever I needed a hug he was always willing to give one without hesitation.
Newton never asked for much besides my love in return. I don't think I could ever return all the unconditional love he gave me. He was the best dog a girl could ever have. I have missed him everyday since his passing. But I realize that I'm one of the luckiest people in the world. I have a beautiful angel dog watching out for me from above. Sending all my love Newton!
