Thanksgiving travel tips

Thanksgiving is one of the holidays that may involve traveling for some people. It is time to return home for a wonderful family dinner together for a sumptuous meal especially the delicious turkey. Here is how you can make your travel hassle free.

Write down a list of important things you need bring along and use the list  as a checklist to make sure that you will forget to bring along with you what you need to bring. Pack your clothes and other essentials as early as possible. Do not forget to take along your First Aid box with you so that you can apply first aid whenever you really need to do so. Do not do any last minute packing so that you may not accidentally leave out something essential. You can be more mobile if your are a light traveler. Therefore, do not take anything unnecessary along with you so that you may travel lightly.



If you are travelling by car, it is important that you ensure that you vehicle is safe enough to drive. You want yourself and your passengers to arrive safely at the destination. Here is how you can ensure that your vehicle is safe to be traveled in.

1. Make sure the engine is in top form so that it will not break down on the way to your destination.

2. Check the brakes to see they are working okay and if necessary bleed the brakes so that you can stop safely.

3. Make sure your brake light and the other lights are working properly so that you won't endanger yourself, your passengers and other road users.

4. Make sure the indicators are in proper working order so that other road users will know that you are turning or changing lanes.

5. Make sure each of your tyres is not bald or has not lose a lot of its threads so that the chances of your vehicle skidding dangerously will be less.

6. Make sure that you have enough engine oil so that your engine will not be ruined.

7. Ensure that the correct pressure is on every tyre so that you can have a smoother and safer ride.

8. Make sure you have a spare tyre and the tyre is in good condition.

9. Take along a flashlight with you in case you get stranded in the dark.

10. Make sure you have enough fuel and have some extra with you so that you will not be stranded on the way to your destination.

11. Make sure you have enough water in the coolant so that your engine will not overheat.

The best thing to do, if you are not a mechanic, is to send your vehicle to a trusted mechanic to it thoroughly checked.  Remember that it is always better to be safe than sorry.
