Poetry: Tell me why

by David Greenwell

Created on: November 21, 2010

Someone please tell me why we are who we are, why we wish upon stars, why we talk to our cars?

And someone please tell me why our world is at war, why we keep shutting doors on Americas poor?

Someone please tell me, oh please tell me why?

Why do we hate, cheat, steal, kill, lie?

Someone tell me why do we cry to the sky,

When another person dies, tell me why?

I pray to the heavens, so He can tell me why.

I sit all alone and wait for His reply.
