I must write, I always have
Once to record my childhood, sad
My only expression was paper and pen
To release childhood pain back then
Now I write of God's love and hope
Hope that's solid against hopeless scope
Encouraging others in anguish and pain
That God loves them and His love never wanes
I must write what is true and profound
Not just for me, but for all - all around
To encourage the hopeless and those in pain
Words to be read again and again
I must write of God's inner peace
His healing and joy so generously released
The benevolent changes He gladly incites
Compelled by His love, it's why I must write

The cold, black ribbon touches my skin,
wrapping over
