With an ever growing populous developing asthma, understanding the common triggers is an essential tool to surviving this deadly disease. The goal should not just be to avoid a full blown attack, but to make everyday wheezing a thing of the past. And since a tight chest on a regular basis can lead to the more serious forms of asthma, it would be wise to take some measures against this.
Animal Hairs
Pets are a wonderful thing to own for people with perfect lungs, however to an asthmatic these creatures of comfort can pose life threatening issues. The best policy for a person or child who suffers with this illness is to simply live in a pet free house. If you must have a pet such as a dog then make sure the hairs of this animal are not short and fine, as this will play havoc with your airways. Under no circumstances ever live with a cat if you suffer from asthma. The hairs are so fine that irritation to the airways are inevitable and will certainly cause an attack. If you already live with a cat and are regularly wheezy then perhaps it is time to change this dangerous situation. You health will greatly improve resulting in less attacks and thereby minimum medication.
Additives
A lot of asthma suffers rarely pick up on the the daily things they ingest that are the cause of their illness. Things with yeast in such as beer can narrow the airways ever so slightly so as to bring on a wheezy chest. Alcohol in general should be a no go area when wishing to prevent a tight chest. Concentrated juices of all kinds does exactly the same thing to your airways, replace these with pure versions of the same drink. Vinegar is a condiment made from the oxidation of wine, cider, beer and fermented fruit juice, and as such will cause a severe narrowing of your airways. People with asthma who add this to meals can expect to reach for the inhaler fairly quickly upon consumption. Citrus based goods such as oranges, grapefruits, lemons and limes effect the breathing system as well, and as such should be avoided.
Dust
Of all the things that cause severe and often deadly asthma attacks, dust is by far the most important thing to steer clear of. Even small amounts of household dust can take you from feeling fine to needing emergency treatment within a few short breaths. Homes can appear clean to the naked eye. But lurking amongst the prettiest carpets can lay a formation of dust that may trigger an attack that will take weeks to recover from. Ideally replacing carpets with wooden floors
