Fast food has its place for busy people and also a good option when preparing and cooking meals seems like a chore. Grabbing fast food is fast and easy, someone else prepares it and it saves time.
Buffet food is great when you don’t really know what you feel like eating. With everything in front of you at once and because you have the option of choosing from a wide range of foods, its easy to eat as much as you want or not each much at all. You don’t get stuck with food you’re not going to eat. You pay for exactly what you want.
Restaurant food comes in many different forms according to the type of restaurant. There are fine dining restaurants where the food is piled high on the plate like a tower. There are restaurants that specialise in foods from other countries, the food from these is excellent, the service is usually good and the presentation of some of these restaurants is absolutely gorgeous. Apart from restaurants that serve Thai or Chinese, there is the restaurant that is joined to the local bar or pub. Pub grub is my kind of food.
Pub restaurants have the best food and it doesn’t matter if the pub has lots of patrons or many and it doesn’t matter if the restaurant is large or small. The food from a pub restaurant can be similar to the meals that were home cooked by your mum like the steak and the salad, the fries / chips and the soup.
A pub restaurant cooks while you wait and while you socialise. The waiting time isn’t anywhere as short as the time waiting for fast food but the result is worth the wait. Some fast foods can seem rubbery and unpleasant to eat even though the food is filling. Also when it comes to fast food, you know that the food may have been sitting around for a while and may not be cooked to order. A pub restaurant is cooked to order, the food is fresh. A dinner roll from a restaurant beats any rubbery burger bun that is full of preservatives. A pub restaurant provides appetizing, simple food that tastes really good compared to fast food.
I like buffet food (as long as the serving utensils are not mixed with other foods). Buffet style food is easy and the atmosphere when it comes to a buffet provides a concentration more on socialising than with the actual food itself. Pub food; the steak, the salad, the pasta dishes and the great desserts and the ever changing specials board represents the right atmosphere with just the right amount of home cooked flair for me.
