Our minds are the darkest place on earth.
I see you in there, with your arms around me,
With your hand grasped tightly around my throat
There, you hold me close, wanting to have and to hold
There, passion binds us, yet tears us apart
There, we each hope we find another beating heart
I see you grinning, your gray eyes dominate, penetrate...
And I no longer feel desolate
There we see hope, yet see our dreams die,
There we can no longer tell the difference
Between a truth and a lie.
There, we die a thousand splendid deaths,
While taking a thousand miserable breaths
There, we have no past, present or future,
No memories, or regrets.
There, we remember but at the same time forget
And feelings run wild, like from a broken faucet
There, we lose our value, but we know our worth,
Our minds are the darkest place on earth.

I am alert
i’m waking

So what you collect

I had a mind, but never mind;
(mind, it was a good one!)
I lost my mind; I could not find
where I'd misplaced my thoughts.
