Online dating profiles are always a big trek for anybody who has to write one. Loads of questions start to stream into your mind; what do I write here? Will it look good enough? Do I tell a little white lie here or there? These questions are all very understandable; after all, your profile is the cover on the book that is you. This is the first impression that any man or woman will get when they consider getting in touch.
So, you have signed up and you want to get it right, but more importantly, you want it to be effective, yes, effective. Well, it turns out that making a profile that is really worth reading, is a lot easier than it actually sounds. In order to start off your profile, you have to throw all of those questions you have in the trash, and keep one question in the spotlight – What information would I want to see on a profile if I were interested?
A dating profile works better when there is at least some kind of a coherent structure to it. Think about what the reader needs to know first, what is going to grab their attention? This is where having a correct order can really help you to improve your match results and inbox count.
Given that most people don’t like talking about themselves in-case they build themselves up too much or not enough, writing your introductory section is a crucial step in building your profile, meaning that you need to get it to meet a certain standard. The one trap that many, many people fall into is being gentle with the truth. They tend to leave out certain pieces of information which have to come out sooner or later. You need to be very honest in your introductory section about who you are. Always make sure when writing your introduction to include information such as who you are and what you do. Really try to sum yourself up in a paragraph so that the reader can get a good, clear overview of you as a person. Try to imagine that you are selling a product in a TV ad. You would be honest about the product and explain its main selling points! Well that is exactly what you must do in this introduction. Show off your main features as a person. Here are two example introductions. The first is an introduction that has very little thought or enthusiasm added into it. The second is open, honest, and gives a good brief overview of the person.
