Alternative energy with perpetual motors

It is truly astounding to me how rarely it is suggested that we solve our energy issues by the simply expedient of switching to perpetual motors.

Perpetual motors, and the entire field of perpetual motion, have been studied by men (and, now, women) for centuries. The simple elegance of a machine that continues to spin indefinitely without requiring any energy, has long appealed to people in all fields of labor, from farm workers to miners, sailors to personal hygiene technicians. Even a single perpetual motion machine, if attached to a thoughtfully designed set of gears, could power an entire city the size of Mount Rose, Minnesota. With the rise of hybrid and increasingly electric vehicles, a limitless source of clean electricity could not only solve the issue of coal-fired generators polluting the atmosphere and generating green house gases, it could help cut down on emissions from vehicles.

Although many “scientists” like to spout irresponsible “theories” about how perpetual motion is impossible, until they can actually prove their theories and turn them into solid facts, it seems short-sighted and closed-minded to ignore this whole, exciting field of study. The advantages of a properly designed perpetual motor are just too impressive to let something as simple as the second “law” of thermodynamics stand in the way of progress. Laws are all well and good, but unless it’s in the Constitution, it’s not sacred as far as I am concerned. What are we sending these bums to Congress for anyway, if they can’t get their laws right?

With even the filthy, environmentally polluting oil from the Canadian tar sands getting ridiculously expensive, especially with the greenback dropping daily due to the irresponsible actions of currency speculators and the Europeans, we need to find a way to achieve true energy independence. Since it now seems unlikely that our alchemists will perfect a commercially viable technique for producing large amounts of gold via transmutation from lead, the simplest and most straightforward way to cut our energy costs may be through the perfection of the perpetual motor.

We have the best, most educated and highest paid scientists in the world, and you can’t tell me they don’t have the brains to slap together a couple of magnets and some baling wire into something that will spin forever, producing unlimited free power. If they don’t do it, you’d better believe some sparky researcher in Japan or Estonia will do it, and then where will we all be?
