Here in Arizona over the last few months, there have been several articles about the troubles along the border.

It wasn't until the follow up article regarding smuggling operations being set up in this area that I became truly concerned however. These are permanent bunkers built by illegals who are bringing drugs, human smuggling and violence in America.

Permanent.

Mr. President, this constitutes a serious incursion of enemy forces onto American soil. This is no longer an illegal immigration issue, or some political football you can kick around while you discuss the issue with do nothing Congress. We are being invaded. There are even areas of our nation, that we are told not to enter, for our own safety.

When a group of hostile citizens from a foreign country, lead an armed incursion into your country for the purpose of damaging your economy, or prosperity, and hold onto territory- that's an invasion. I didn't make the word up.

So where is the Army? Where is the Air Force? Where is our vaunted military that so many citizens pony up a third of their tax dollars for?
And more importantly, why is this not taken as seriously as it should be by either Governor Brewer or the President? The time for debate is over, the barbarians are at the gate. It's time to start shooting. It's time for individual States to man the fences at the border.

Unmanned drones and advisors to the border patrol aren't going to cut it. If 5000 Russians came over into Alaska and started shooting up the place and distributing drugs into the cities, and then established a manned outpost above Anchorage, would things be taken so lightly? I hardly think so. So why are we dealing with this attack- yes attack- on the United States from Mexico so lightly?

The opponents of Arizona's SB 1070, and the forces from the left on the Hill, constantly state that those that support the bill, and other legislation that prohibits illegal immigration as racists. How is it any less racist to say that we will not defend our own soil from an enemy attack because those enemies are from Mexico? It is just as bad. How many people have to die before you are going to do something about it?

Obama is just as bad as Carter was when he refused to defend our soil when Iranians invaded and captured our embassy in Teheran in 1979. It is the same thing- a hostile enemy mobilized and seized American soil, and a President was too weak to do anything about it. And Governor Brewer may talk a mean game, but really has yet to do anything about it either.

The governor, upon hearing these reports, should have immediately mobilized the state National Guard, established positions of containment around the known areas, and requested military support from the Federal government to destroy the hostile incursion. It is not an overreaction to defend ourselves from an attack by a foreign power. And that is what this is, make no mistake about it.

We are being invaded Mr. President. Time to defend the borders. We are under attack Governor. We need to man the gates before the barbarians kill us all.
