The massive multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORG) World of Warcraft is fast becoming one of the most popular online games in the world. With over 10 million subscribers, this exciting, fun filled game is turning into a whole subculture by itself.

One of the first things you’ll learn quickly in the game is that gold is everything. Without it, you can’t buy better items for your characters, you can’t train to learn new abilities and you can’t repair your items if they are damaged. The fastest way most characters make money is to learn a profession. These are trade skills that can help your character, or toon as players call them, not only make a ton of swift cash but create personal items that allow your toon to stick out from the crowd with unique bonus items and interesting gadgets.

Enchanting, a major profession in World of Warcraft may seem a bit difficult at first but is easily mastered with the right approach. While most enchanters won’t make massive amounts of gold until they reach mid range to end game content, even beginner enchanters are blessed with special abilities that other characters will seek out and pay decent prices for their services.

To begin your enchanting career, visit the enchanting trainer located in any major city. You can ask a local guard for directions if you’re not sure where to find them. Beginning enchanting training costs a paltry sum, which should be easily obtainable by killing a few small level monsters or completing quests prior to reaching the big city.

Along with enchanting, you will gain the ability to disenchant items, turning them into materials needed to make the enchants you are learning. This comes in quite handy later on when enchanting materials, or matts as they are called in game become rather expensive to buy as higher level items are needed to create better enchants. You can also sell these materials to other characters or on the local auction house when you have a surplus of them. Many enchanters make a very decent living solely by disenchanting items in the game and selling the materials they gain from it.

Next to the enchanting trainer you will notice an enchanting supply vendor. These usually have in stock a few of the very early on beginning matts needed to start you off on the road to becoming an enchanting guru. Buy any recipes you find here even if you can’t learn them yet because you will need them later on.
