Rumors surface that Google is considering an iTunes-like music service

With Google searching for ways to make itself the next big everything, Apple has been found to be the mega-company's main competition for the past few years.  With the Android OS taking over Apple's iOS at second place behind Nokia's Symbian, and Google's new navigation service out there offering what a Tom Tom does, for free.  So it is only a matter of time Google starts to compete not just with the phone aspect of Apple's business model, but the music too.  Music is what propelled Apple's mobile model to the success they have with it now thanks to the ipod, and an awesome idea.  It hit the market like a phone with a camera on it, and has trucked on from there.

Now with the prospect of Google Music out there to increase the media functionality of their mobile device, android can start being developed more towards the mobile media powerhouse we all know it could be.  Even assume the practicality of the continued syncing between android and Google TV, say like eventually watching your DVR on your mobile device.  Google Music will work to integrate even deeper our Android powered devices into the fabric of our digital life.  The true meaning of Digital Zen.

Regardless of funny names, start to imagine just how much of a role this could play in our future lives.  Sure, its just a music app, but with a template like iTunes to follow, which operates a full on media distribution system to all of its devices, iPod, iPad, iPhone, and Apple TV.  Now with Android OS, and Google TV out and formulating a following, when Google music shows up, products and software will start being created to tie it all together.  The most exciting having to deal with the mobile market.

Finally Android phones might start being designed around larger internal memory, rather than the SD scenario now.  At least start offering more than a standard 2GB entry into the storage.  Start at 16GB or 32GB and a more pronounced music/media player with the Android OS, and all of a sudden we have a system that can start aggressively shaking a stick at Apple, and their high priced yuppie products.  The simple fact that you can buy a piece of hardware with the equivalent specs of a MacBook or iMac and install OSX on your own for thousands less is a testament to their fat-cat business model.

Google is good at finding ways into people's homes for much less than Apple's insane introductory price tag.  generally offers more options, and free support.  Microsoft has been attempting to keep up, but most people just regard them as the retarded step-child.  The point being, Google is in no hurry to prove that it is offering a superior product and service at a cheaper price, but letting the consumer speak for them.  If they keep with their current theme of valuable relevant content, than Google Music will not disappoint.
