A match strikes,
the heat of the glow
the only light
in the dark
He runs his finger
through, the pain,
mesmerizing,
tickles his skin
Until it becomes too real,
unbearable,
and finally drops into
the puddle
lying purposefully on the floor.
Igniting instantly,
gasping at the beautiful pattern,
as it chases the shadows
engulfing all in its path
The heat, so intense,
suffocating,
he reluctantly slips out the door,
pausing to turn (to stare)
Gazing from the darkness,
It spreads
violently,
magnificently...
And he closes his eyes
smiling to himself,
the destruction, Their pain
making him whole again.
